I saw Raul Julia in "Where's Charley" Circle in the Square Theatre, 1974. I was 11. I don't remember anything about the show other than being so impressed with this man, my estimation of his talent was such that I told my friends "He's good enough to be on TV!" Yes, he was. I saw him again on Broadway in "Dracula". I was now 15 and could not believe the flutters in my heart for an ADULT. It wasn't my style, but he was just, well, he was just so divine. And sexy. For a grownup. I was blessed to be in the audience for one of his last performances, a reading in St. Thomas Church on 5th Ave and 53rd St in NYC. I don't remember what he read. Only that he read. I was so very moved by his acknowledgement of his family in the audience that day. I'm sure his wife was there. Raul looked at his son, no older than 7. He nodded his head in mature acknowledgement of his child and said "Benjamin", pronouncing the J as H. He was a beautiful man, a beautiful soul.
