What a wonderful (and uncanny) choice for a Valentine's Day song! I, too, love Shirley Booth's performance as Cissy and that memorable cast album of an underrated classic show, " A Tree Grows in Brooklyn". Cissy is an enjoyable character but one that appears only from time to time in the original novel and film (Joan Blondell gave a nice performance in the role). It took Ms. Booth to make the role shine and become an unexpected star character in the musical. As for Dorothy Fields--her contribution to the musical is tremendous. A great set of lyrics encompassing almost any human emotion one can imagine. Peter, you've done it again. I heartily approve your choice of a truly "funny Valentine" which indeed makes one "smile with...heart".
