This is simply one of my favorite cast albums of all times, and (as much as I love "The Rink" and "Steel Pier") this is probably my favorite ever Kander & Ebb cast album, if you can believe it. It's simply a crowd-pleaser, from start to finish. And with those "old timers" strutting there stuff, there's some very hard-won life-affirming energy pulsating throughout. Plus: Mildred Natwick as the Diva in a Kander & Ebb musical? I mean... come on! Does it get any gayer (read: wonderful) than that?
