I love this album. Mandy Patinkin as a solo singer is not to everyone's taste, in fact Gerard Allesandrino, creator of Forbidden Broadway lampooned him with Somewhat Overindulgent to the tune of Over the Rainbow. I personally love the intensity he brings. I had been dying to see him live for a long time, when I finally got the chance, at the Van Wezel Center in Sarasota Fl. We were there early and got to watch Mandy warm up on the stage, via the video intercom system. He paced the stage like a wound up spring, all the while playing with a Yo Yo. So very much like his intense stage personna that night. I hoped he would sing a lot of Sondheim, which he does so well, and he did. I love this album, and I hope others will too.
