35th Anniversay of Houston Grand Opera’s Porgy and Bess
Houston Grand Opera’s production of Porgy and Bess (add The Gershwins to the front according to the upcoming Broadway revival) arrived on Broadway 35 years ago this week. The acclaimed revival helped to restore the opera/musical to the standard repertoire and is celebrated by MWB this week with new photos from this landmark 1976 production.
