Broadway’s Chicago Announces Events to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Broadway revival ChicagoNow through July 24th, celebrate the second-longest-running Broadway show in history after Phantom of the Opera, Chicagoat Lincoln Center Festival.

Takarazuka, the all-female Japanese musical revue troupe, will celebrate the centennial of its founding with its first appearance in New York in over 25 years with a special Japanese-language, Takarazuka-style, all-female production of Chicago July 20-24 at the David H. Koch Theatre. It reportedly will mark the first time that two identical productions in two different languages will be running at the same time in New York. Leading the cast and rotating the leading roles are Saori Mine, Saki Asaji, Asato Shizuki, Yoka Wao, Wataru Kozuki, Hikaru Asami, Natsuki Mizu and Yuga Yamato. The troupe will cap the evening’s entertainment with an over-the-top revue featuring dance and glittering costumes.
