We’ve got a bunch of new photos today from the 1956 recording session for The Most Happy Fella. Columbia producer Goddard Lieberson decided that Loesser’s rich score deserved to be recorded in its entirety, complete with dialogues and instrumental bridges, resulting in a 3-LP set, something usually reserved for operas.

Leonard Bernstein’s Broadway debut, On The Town, featured Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It opened in December 1944 but the cast album wasn’t recorded until 20 years later. We’ve got photos from the recording session here.
